North Cotswold CAMRA

Pub of the Year 2019

North Cotswold Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale

The Craven Arms at Brockhampton

The North Cotswold Branch has held its annual judging trip to find its Pub of the Year for 2019.Based on weekly assessment visits and Beer Scoring Data its top five pubs were identified to be judged on unannounced visits. The Judging Teams worked to the CAMRA National POTY Scoring Scheme and the Craven Arms was adjudged the winner in a tight contest.

Congratulations goes to Barbara and Sam Price at The Craven who have been at the top of the tree for many years having won the award twice before and have been runners-up five times. With three hand pumps serving a continuing variety of local and regional beers, all of which we found in top condition it is credit to them that this small village pub is a winner once again.

The Pub has recently gone through a refurbishment with changes to open up the dining room with full length windows and the ceiling in the lounge removed to expose the roof beams which show their continued commitment to improving the premises.

There were joint runners up in the Competition so congratulations to the Bakers Arms at Broad Campden and The Mousetrap at Bourton on the Water who shared the same scores just behind the winner.
